Research summary
The aim of the Canada Research Chair in Research-Creation in Music is to study and define research-creation and its expressionin a musical context by fostering innovative and interdisciplinary projects for scientific and artifactual dissemination, while maintaining leading--edge research-creation training. The research-creation approach highlights, particularly in the field of music, the need for collaboration among participants (musicologists, researcher-creators, musicians, users) by sharing tasks based on expertise.Whether it is in the recording studio, on stage, in a research laboratory, in Lablive or a virtual environment, research-creation is about examining the collaborative activities and interactions among the participants at the very moment when creation and research occur. This will contribute to a better understanding of research-creation in music through broadening its scope and social impacts.
