Research summary

Teaching and learning partnerships between students and faculty can influence and shape post-secondary education in a variety of areas. Dr. Cherie Woolmer, Canada Research Chair in Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, is exploring how.

She and her research team are using social network analysis methodology to investigate meaningful conversations about teaching and learning between faculty and students. They are systematically reviewing partnership principles in different disciplinary contexts and identifying indicators that illustrate the effects of partnerships on institutional culture. They are also developing new national and international networks with faculty, staff and students to translate their research into practice.
